  • Corps seeks public comment on water system improvements in Power-Teton County, Montana

    A proposal to improve the water distribution system for the Power-Teton County Water and Sewer District is currently available for public comment through April 13, 2020.
  • Corps to restrict public access to facilities as precautionary measure

    LOUISVILLE, KY –In the interest of public safety due to COVID-19 concerns, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District will be restricting public access at the district’s Corps facilities for the next 30 days, effective March 13, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.
  • USACE Buffalo District substantially completes Stanford Run ecosystem restoration project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District (USACE) substantially completed the Stanford Run ecosystem restoration project located within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) in Summit County, Ohio, in early January 2020. The Buffalo District restored nearly 1,200 feet of a small stream within CVNP named Stanford Run under the original Stanford Run Restoration Project contract awarded to Ryba Marine Construction Co. The District also awarded a second, follow-on contract to Armitage Architecture, P.C. at the end of September 2019 to continue restoration on the channel, which restored an additional 1,000 lineal feet.
  • Enid Lake hosts annual Cleanup Day event

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District’s Enid Lake and the Enid Lake Volunteers for Waste Management held the lake’s annual Cleanup Day event Feb. 22, which provided volunteers an opportunity to help maintain the beauty of the lake.
  • Feds shift Seattle, Portland CRSO EIS meetings to 'phone only'

    Officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation and the Bonneville Power Administration decided that the in-person public comment meetings planned for Seattle and Portland will not be held due to the high number of COVID-19 cases reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in those geographical areas and calls from local officials to limit public exposure. Phone-in options have been added to the formal comment choices for those avoiding crowded venues.

  • Highway 165/265 over Table Rock Dam temporary closure schedule

    BRANSON, Mo. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close Highway 165/265 over Table Rock Dam from 8:00 P.M. until 6:00 A.M. on March 30th, March 31st, and April 11th.
  • USACE officials announce changes to park operations at Benbrook Lake

    Fort Worth, Texas – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at Benbrook Lake announce today changes to park operations beginning April 1. Public interest and use trends over the last few years has created a need for operational changes at Mustang Park to a day use activities only area. Overnight camping will no longer be permitted in Mustang Park but will still be available nearby in the Holiday and Bear Creek campgrounds. Recreating activities like picnicking, fishing and swimming will be allowed during hours of park operation at Mustang Park.
  • Corps Begins Next Phase of Inspections along the Mississippi River

    The Mississippi River has risen to 15 feet at the Carrollton Gage prompting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District to reactivate phase II flood fight procedures. Closely coordinating efforts with the local levee authorities, the New Orleans District will begin daily patrolling of levees along the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge to Venice. Increased patrols help ensure our ability to respond quickly to any problem areas that may develop along the levee system because of the elevated water levels.
  • Army Corps announces signing of Chief’s Report for Delaware Bay study

    PHILADELPHIA (Mar. 9, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District announces that Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite, USACE Commanding General and the 54th U.S. Army Chief of Engineers, has signed the Chief’s Report for the “Delaware Beneficial Use of Dredged Material for the Delaware River Feasibility Study” — a key milestone for the proposed project. The signing of the report advances the project to Congress for authorization.
