    Lt. Gen. William H. "Butch" Graham Jr., incoming commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), receives the USACE colors from U.S. Army Chief of Staff Randy A.     Graham assumes command of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

    WASHINGTON – Lt. Gen. William H. “Butch” Graham, Jr. today assumed command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and became the Army’s 56th Chief of Engineers during a three-part ceremony at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall’s Conmy Hall. Graham assumed command from outgoing USACE commander Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon during the change of command ceremony hosted by Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Randy A. George.

    Spellmon Departs Army, Leaves Lasting Legacy

    After 38 years of service, the active-duty Army career of Lt. Gen. Scott Spellmon comes to a close tomorrow as he retires from military service in a ceremony at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall’s Conmy Hall.

    WASHINGTON – Michael L. Connor, assistant secretary of the Army for Civil Works, announced today during a visit to the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona that 12 communities from across the country will be the first to participate in a pilot program specifically designed to make federal investments in small or economically disadvantaged communities.

    Construction Management Innovation Office uses AI to help build new online resource library for field staff

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Construction Management Innovation Office (CMIO) continues to look for ways to streamline and revolutionize proactive knowledge and process management for construction management professionals. Recently, the CMIO teamed up with the U.S. Army Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to efficiently create content within the new Construction Management Administration Application (CMA²).

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will recognize multiple individuals for their contributions to the organization and Engineer Regiment at the annual Engineer Castle Ball on Fri., Aug. 9, 2024.

    Senior leaders from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) conduct a three-day conference in Frederick, Maryland at the VA Acquisition Academy earlier in June. The VA/USACE Super Construction Program manages over 30 super construction projects valued at over $14 billion nation-wide and is part of the wide variety of programs and services the VA offers which support the wellness and care of a veteran population of over 22 million.

    Senior leaders from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) conducted a three-day strategy conference in Frederick, Maryland at the VA Acquisition Academy earlier in June.

During their eight-day visit with USACE.     USACE Hosts Vietnamese and World Bank Delegation for a Study Tour on Nature-Based Solutions

    For over 15 years, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has actively engaged in initiatives that share best practices in water management, disaster risk mitigation, and sustainable development across the Indo-Pacific region. Collaboration with our international partners and allies not only contributes to community resilience within the region but also fosters peace, stability, cooperation, and development worldwide. Earlier this month, USACE hosted delegates from five Vietnam ministries and eight provinces for a World Bank sponsored study tour focused on nature-based solutions. The delegates visited various Corps of Engineers’ offices and projects to learn about the use of nature-based, sustainable solutions in the management of water resources. The objective of the visit was to support Vietnam’s initiative to implement nature-based solutions in the Vietnam delta.

  • New Army Civil Works program announces 18 proposals are being invited to apply for federal financing for non-federal dam safety project

    The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today announced the first set of proposals being invited to apply for loans under the new Corps Water Infrastructure Financing Program (CWIFP). CWIFP is a new federal financing program to provide loans and loan guarantees for borrowers for safety projects to maintain, upgrade, and repair non-federal dams.

  • USACE extends comment period on draft National Levee Safety Guidelines

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today it is extending the comment period on the draft first edition of the National Levee Safety Guidelines to Aug. 31, 2024. The guidelines were developed with stakeholder input under the National Levee Safety Program and released for public review on April 1, 2024.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Releases 2024-2027 Climate Adaptation Plan

    Today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers joined more than 20 other federal agencies to release its 2024-2027 Climate Adaptation Plan and expand the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts to ensure federal operations are increasingly resilient to climate change impacts. The updated adaptation plans advance the administration’s National Climate Resilience Framework, which helps to align climate resilience investments across the public and private sector through common principles and opportunities for action to build a climate resilient nation.

  • Army Corps of Engineers waives day use fees at recreation areas in observance of Army Corps of Engineers Birthday and Juneteenth Celebration

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it will waive day use fees at its more than 2,850 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in observance of the USACE birthday, June 16, and Juneteenth National Independence Day, June 19.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers delivered to Congress its Fiscal Year 2024 Work Plan for the Army Civil Works Program May 10, 2024. “The FY 2024 Work Plan for Army Civil Works continues this administration’s ongoing commitment to fund crucial infrastructure projects and build resilience in a changing climate. Its investments in our coastal ports and inland waterways will strengthen the economy and help maintain our farmers’ competitive advantage in the global marketplace. Resources are also dedicated to ensure the resumption of full operations at Baltimore Harbor, re-opening a critical port for the nation’s trade and commerce,” said Michael Connor, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works.
