  • Corps opens public comment for C-111 South Dade Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, will accept public comment on the Canal 111 South Dade (C-111 SD) Project, Replacement of Interim Pump Stations S-332B and S-332C, Draft Integrated General Re-Evaluation Report, Environmental Assessment and Proposed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The report describes the recommended plan, identified as Alternative 3 in the document. Comments are due February 27.
  • District provides update regarding Arkabutla Lake road, recreational site closures

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District notified the public of a road closure and recreational site closure at Arkabutla Lake, located approximately 35 miles north of Marks, Mississippi, Jan. 28. Due to ongoing maintenance, the road across the top of Arkabutla Dam has been closed. The road will remain closed for approximately three weeks. Visitors should be prepared to use alternate routes.

  • Corps closes two more breaches on Missouri River Levee System L-594

    Two outlet breaches on the Missouri River Levee System L-594 were closed on Saturday. These are the third and fourth breaches to be closed on the L-594 system, providing an initial level of flood risk management to the area behind this downstream portion of the levee, located west of Thurman, Iowa. The USACE team and Contractor will continue finalizing repairs at these breach locations while also focusing on the one remaining outlet breach.
  • Corps of Engineers monitors high water on Upper Mississippi River

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is monitoring high water conditions affecting parts of the Upper Mississippi River in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa as a result of historic flows this winter.
