The January 2015 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers scorecard measures progress against the goals of Executive Order (EO) 13514: Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy and Economic Performance, which was rescinded on March 19, 2015 by EO 13693, Planning for Federal Sustainability in the Next Decade.
Although USACE is not presently meeting all its targets as indicated on its Sustainability/Energy Scorecard, the agency is poised to make some positive strides in several areas, including adjustments according to the new EO 13693. The agency recently issued a new sustainable buildings policy for its Civil Works and USACE–owned and leased buildings, which essentially adopts the Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 1-200-02, High Performance and Sustainable Buildings (HPSB) Requirements. USACE also has established a pipeline of energy performance contracting projects that will help make significant strides toward the goals of EO 13693.
