    Inspections by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District rated maintenance of five rural levee systems in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta as unacceptable, and rated maintenance of two additional Delta levee systems as minimally acceptable.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Releases Work Plans for Fiscal Year 2013 Civil Works Appropriations

    Washington- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released its work plans, or spending plans, through the end of Fiscal Year 2013 for five appropriation accounts in the Army Civil Works program. President Obama signed the Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013, Division F of Public Law 113-6, into law on March 26, 2013. The Act provided total FY13 appropriations for the Army Civil Works program of $4.972 billion.

    Corps closing Minneapolis locks to all traffic due to high flows on the Mississippi River

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will close its three twin cities locks to commercial navigation at 8 a.m., June 27, when flows surpass 40,000 cubic feet per second, or cfs. The three locks were closed to recreation boaters Monday when flows exceeded 30,000 cfs.

    USACE Galveston District partners with HSPS to promote safety on the water during 4th of July

    GALVESTON, Texas (June 26, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District partnered with the Houston Sail and Power Squadron (a unit of the United States Power Squadrons) to provide recreational boaters with free vessel safety examinations June 29-30 and July 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Trinity River Island Recreation Area (also known as the Wallisville Lake Project Boat Ramp) in Wallisville, Texas.
