Student gets geotech guidance

Kelly Wun, a high school senior, had a chance to learn directly from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Far East District employees at the district compound in Seoul on Nov. 5. Scott Bittner, a science teacher at Seoul American High School, selected Wun for this job-shadowing opportunity from eight student-candidates, in recognition of her leadership and academic interests.

California cadet finds element in the 'Hostess City'

On the heels of his freshman year at UCLA, Army ROTC Cadet Justin Wynne arrived with a lean understanding of the Corps as a new intern with the Cadet District Engineer Program here. By week four, he departed fleshed with experience on some of the district’s principal works, including the all-encompassing Savannah Harbor Expansion Project.

USACE Galveston District celebrates Corps’ and Army’s 240th birthdays; names Employee, Engineer, Regulator and Supervisor of the Year

GALVESTON, Texas (June 4, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District celebrated the U.S. Army’s and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ 240th birthdays with an awards ceremony to induct a USACE Galveston District retiree into the Gallery of Distinguished Civilian Employees, name the Employee, Engineer, Regulator and Supervisor of the Year as well as to honor staff for their contributions to the community, state and nation.

Jacksonville District Celebrates Engineer Career Day 2015

Jacksonville, Fla. – More than 100 high school students and teachers from 11 public and private schools in northeast Florida attended the annual Engineering Career Day event, hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District on Feb. 27. This day-long event has been co-sponsored with the Society of American Engineers (SAME) Jacksonville Post for the past 13 years.
