  • Bluebird Monitoring Volunteer Opportunities

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at West Point Project is seeking volunteers to assist with bluebird nesting box monitoring during the March to August breeding season. Prospective volunteers should be available to inspect their assigned nesting boxes every two weeks during the breeding season. USACE will provide data logs and maps to the locations of the assigned nesting boxes.
  • Personal Watercraft and Boating Safety Course

    The US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 81, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake, will conduct a personal watercraft and boating safety course at the West Point Project Management Office on April 16 and 18, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time. This course will provide information on legal requirements, navigation rules, preventing personal watercraft and boating accidents, and new boating laws.

    Master Sgt. Bernie Lujan received the 2012 U.S. Army Antiterrorism Honor Roll Award March 26, 2013, at the District’s Headquarters in Albuquerque, N.M. Lujan also received the 2012 USACE Meritorious Antiterrorism Honor Roll Award in the same ceremony.

    The Albuquerque District welcomed Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly, March 15, 2013. Shelly visited the District’s office as part of executive level discussions on how to improve coordination and collaboration between the Corps and the Navajo Nation for current and future projects.
