    USACE Vicksburg District activates Emergency Operation Center due to high water

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District activated its Emergency Operations Center to “emergency watch” status March 24 due to current and forecasted high water on the Mississippi River and its tributaries.

    Virtual public meetings set for Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion Draft Environmental Impact Statement

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Louisiana Trustee Implementation Group (LA TIG) will jointly conduct three virtual public meetings to solicit comments on the Draft EIS and Draft Restoration Plan. UPDATE: Comment period for the Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion Draft Environmental Impact Statement has been extended until June 3, 2021

    NR 21-13: Lake Cumberland Visitor’s Center set to reopen

    SOMERSET, Ky. (March 25, 2021) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the Lake Cumberland Visitor’s Center in Somerset, Kentucky, is reopening to visitors Thursday, April 1, 2021. The office previously only accepted visitors by appointment only as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

    Corps submits Elim harbor report to Congress for authorization

    Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and 55th U.S. Army Chief of Engineers, signed the Elim Subsistence Harbor Chief’s Report during a special event in Washington, D.C. this month. The signing progresses the proposed project to Congress for authorization.
