    Powerhouse tours, camping and day use at Garrison Dam and Lake Sakakawea

    A new schedule is available for Powerhouse tours, campground opening dates and camping fees for the 2013 recreation season. Walk-in Tours of the Powerhouse will take place Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. They will be conducted every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Tours for large groups can be arranged by calling 701-654-7758. Day use fees will be waived at Lake Sakakawea for the 2013 season.

    Interagency Military Pass waives day-use fees at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreation sites nationwide

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced it will continue to accept the America the Beautiful Federal Recreation Pass Program’s Interagency Annual Pass for Military (Military Pass) at its more than 2,500 USACE-managed recreation areas nationwide.

    Livingston Manor flood study to be aired at meeting

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (NYDEC), the Town of Rockland, and Sullivan County will hold a public meeting to discuss the results of a major study on flooding and ecosystem restoration in Livingston Manor. The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 9, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at the Livingston Manor Firehouse.

    Inspections by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District rated maintenance of nearly 120 miles of levees along the Sacramento River’s west bank in Glenn and Colusa counties, Calif., as unacceptable.

    GALVESTON, Texas (May 3, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District completed the $39.9 million design-build U.S. Border Patrol Station project in Kingsville, Texas, and will celebrate this milestone with the Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector during a grand opening ceremony May 8, 2013.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Allatoona Lake Project in Cartersville, Ga. is gearing up for the 2013 recreation season with several programs returning. Vessel Safety Checks by the U.S. Coast Guard are scheduled to kick off May 25 at Blockhouse Ramp and marinas around Allatoona Lake.
