  • Carlyle Lake Pool Update

    CARLYLE LAKE – As of 9:00 a.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013, the pool elevation of Carlyle Lake is 452.98 feet NGVD with a release rate of approximately 10,000 cubic feet per second (cfs). Yesterday’s inflow was 16,430 dsf. The lake is predicted to crest on Wednesday, May 8th at less than 454.0 feet NGVD, barring additional precipitation. The target pool elevation is 445.0 feet NGVD.

  • Interagency Military Pass waives day-use fees at USACE recreation sites nationwide

    Benton – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will continue to accept the America the Beautiful Federal Recreation Pass Program’s Interagency Annual Pass for Military (Military Pass) at its more than 2,500 USACE-managed recreation areas nationwide.

  • Garrison Dam West Tailrace road closure

    The Garrison Dam West Tailrace Road, which provides access to the Garrison Power Plant wing walls and west side of the tailrace area, will be closed May 20 through the fall of 2013. The closure is necessary to conduct a road reconstruction project consisting of milling, replacement of asphalt pavement, culverts, storm drains and guardrails.
  • FREE Boat Safety Class – Last of the Season

    Rock Island, IL - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announces they will be offering the last free boating safety education class of the season on May 11for the Quad City area. The class will run from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and will be held at the Mississippi River Project Office at Locks and Dam 14 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa.
