    Carlyle Lake Update and Weekend Activities

    CARLYLE LAKE - As of 2:00 p.m. on Monday June 22, 2015, the pool elevation at Carlyle Lake was 453.52 feet, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD), with a release rate of approximately 5,000 cubic feet of water per second (cfs). The inflow for Sunday June 21, 2015 was approximately 17,680 day second feet (dsf). Without additional rainfall, Carlyle Lake is forecast to crest at 454.20 ft. NGVD on Monday June 23, 2015.

    Carlyle Lake Fireworks Spectacular Re-Scheduled

    CARLYLE LAKE – Due to high water at Carlyle Lake, the Fireworks Spectacular scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2015 has been postponed. The event has been re-scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2015. All activities including the Dam Jam, Sandcastle Building Contest and Volleyball Tournament will be held on September 5th.

    Contract awarded to build shallow water habitat at Middle Decatur Bend, Burt Co., NE

    The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract to Commercial Contractors Equipment, Inc., of Lincoln, Neb. for $1,747,090 to construct shallow water habitat at Middle Decatur Bend in Burt County, Neb. The project will be constructed on land owned by the Corps, and will result in the creation of 11 acres of shallow water habitat that is intended to benefit the federally endangered pallid sturgeon and other native fish and wildlife species.
