Senior Pass Price Increase

Beginning August 28, 2017, the price of the Lifetime Senior Pass (currently $10) will increase to $80. A new Annual Senior Pass is also available for $20. Previously purchased lifetime Golden Age or Senior Passes will be honored for the lifetime of the pass holder. [Read More]

Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns

More public recreation fatalities occur in July than any other month, so the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) asks you to please play it safe while on, in, or near the water because drowning is a leading cause of death this time of year. USACE public recreation fatality statistics show that 88 percent were male, 89 percent were not wearing a life jacket, and 47 percent were swimming in areas not designated as a swimming area. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers launches new water safety campaign -- “Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns”

WASHINGTON — Every year thousands of people in the United States mourn the loss of loved ones who could have survived if they had been wearing a life jacket while spending time on or near our nation’s waters. To heighten awareness for the use of life jackets, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) recently launched a new water safety campaign titled “Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns.” USACE, in cooperation with the Corps of Engineers Natural Resources and Education Foundation, a non-profit foundation established to support USACE natural resources and recreation programs, developed the campaign that targets adult males. Army Corps of Engineers supports new “Every Kid in a Park” recreation initiative

President Obama, with the support of the Federal Interagency Council on Outdoor Recreation to include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, announced today the start of a new initiative to give every child in the United States the chance to explore and learn about America’s great outdoors. Army Corps of Engineers waives fees on National Public Lands Day, Sept. 28

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it will waive day use fees at its more than 2,400 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day on Sept. 28. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ trails designated as National Recreation Trails

WASHINGTON –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that five of its recreation trails have been designated national recreation trails by the U.S. Department of the Interior. The five are among 28 trails nationwide designated this year as new national recreation trails, and will join the national network of more than 1,200 previously designated trails that encompass more than 14,000 miles of existing trails and trail systems.
