  • Critical drainage channels to be maintained

    Throughout its history, the Lower Mississippi River Flood Plain has been besieged by floodwaters; that’s why flood risk management is one of the Memphis District's major mission areas. We serve as the first line of defense for the entire lower Valley. Working to execute this mission and serving as that first line of defense, a Memphis District Project Delivery Team awarded three major contracts to perform maintenance on drainage channels 1 and 251, which are located in the Little River Drainage District in Southeast Missouri. The contracts are for lower Ditch 251, upper Ditch 251, and upper Ditch 1 and authorize contractors to go in and return a total of 89 miles worth of drainage channels to their authorized level of flood protection.
  • USACE-Albuquerque District’s John Martin conduit project results in much needed maintenance and repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ John Martin Dam received significant maintenance and minor repairs in a recently completed conduit project.
  • Scheduled maintenance underway at McAlpine Locks and Dam

    Due to scheduled maintenance and repairs, the north (1,200 ft.) chamber at McAlpine Locks and Dam on the Ohio River in Louisville, Ky., will be closed from June 15 through November 13, 2020 for miter gate replacement. During this time all traffic will be passed through the south (1,200 ft.) chamber. Starting around June 20, dredging operations of the lower approach will also be conducted. This will include a total river closure during nighttime hours of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m from July 3 through July 7.
  • Corps advises mariners of maintenance at Maxwell Locks and Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District is advising mariners that scheduled maintenance is ongoing at Maxwell Locks and Dam on the Monongahela River.

    CELINA, Tenn. (April 27, 2020) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Dale Hollow Dam Road at the dam in Celina, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 8 a.m. CST Monday, May 4, 2020 through Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 5 p.m., CST., as workers upgrade machinery at the dam.
  • NR 20-001: Dale Hollow Dam Road closing for scheduled maintenance

    CELINA, Tenn. (Jan. 15, 2020) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Dale Hollow Dam Road at the dam in Celina, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 8 a.m. CST Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 while personnel perform scheduled maintenance. The road is expected to re-open Wednesday Feb. 12, 2020 at 5 p.m., CST.
  • 19-112 Repair work to intermittently close Mill Creek bridges

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Work to repair the bridges in the area around the Mill Creek dam project will require intermittent bridge closures Dec. 18 through the beginning of January, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operations officials.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 12, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the section of State Highway 141/96 that crosses over Center Hill Dam in Lancaster, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 16-19, 2019 while workers conduct maintenance.
  • 19-110 Corps to repair Charbonneau boat ramp; temporary park closure scheduled

    BURBANK, Wash. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tri-Rivers Natural Resources crew will be repairing the boat ramp at Charbonneau Park, located at Snake River Mile 11 on the south riverbank.
  • 19-105 Fishhook Park to be closed for 2020 Recreation Season

    BURBANK, Wash. – The US Army Corps of Engineers will be closing the Fishhook Park day use and campground areas for the 2020 summer recreation season. This closure is needed for modifications to the park facilities.
