    Beginning the morning of Oct. 12, 2021, the public boat ramp at Abiquiu Lake will be closed for renovations. This closure is expected to last approximately one month, with an anticipated end date of Nov. 10, 2021.

    Crewmembers and maintenance operators for the Medium Capacity Fleet begin major work at the Montgomery Locks and Dam, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District, on the Ohio River in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, Aug. 2, 2021. The medium fleet crew began work at Montgomery L/D in late July, and they will spend approximately a month to replace and repair components of the gate system and valves.

    Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Canyon Lake will temporarily close the dam service road for embankment vegetation control beginning on August 11.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will have additional temporary closures at Lock and Dam 2 in Hastings, Minnesota, August 3 and 5 to properly align and seal the lock chamber’s new miter gates. The lock will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 19, 2021) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Dale Hollow Dam Road at the dam in Celina, Tennessee, is closing to all traffic 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021, while personnel perform scheduled maintenance on the unit head gates. Due to the extensive nature of this work, there is no scheduled date for re-opening the roadway. However, the work is expected to take more than a month to complete.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- The Walla Walla District will be using a herd of goats to remove weeds and other vegetation growing on levees that border the creek shoreline extending from the Mill Creek diversion dam downstream to the metal division works foot bridge near the Mill Creek Office. They are scheduled to arrive June 3.
  • Cheatham Lock helps fuel Middle Tennessee in wake of pipeline shutdown

    ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (May 24, 2021) – With the recent shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District opened up Cheatham Lock despite restrictions during scheduled maintenance so barges destined to fuel Middle Tennessee could navigate up the Cumberland River to Nashville terminals.
