    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Allatoona Lake Project announced today that, beginning in the 2013/2014 hunting season, a $20 special activity fee will be assessed for hunting on certain Allatoona Lake lands. This fee is necessary to offset increasing costs in administering the program and for some future improvements of wildlife habitat.

The success of these innovative public safety campaigns and strategies can be seen in the reduction in fatalities on Corps projects in the past 40 years but, unfortunately, the number of fatalities has leveled off to an average of 164 per year for the past 14 years.
