    15-027 Dworshak Reservoir on track for early fill; water managers balance operational requirements, maximize recreation opportunities during “very unusual” inflows

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – Below-average snowpack in the Clearwater sub-basin and uncertain inflows from future weather conditions add up to an earlier-than-normal fill planned for Dworshak Reservoir, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water-management officials.

    Public meetings scheduled for Denver Urban Waterways Restoration Study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the city and county of Denver, will hold three public meetings to gather input on the recently initiated Denver Waterways Restoration Study. The purpose of the study is to identify ecosystem restoration and flood risk reduction opportunities along critical areas of the South Platte River from 6th Avenue to 58th Avenue and flood-prone areas of Harvard Gulch and Weir Gulch.

    Army Corps awards $5.1 million contract for energy project at Tooele

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $5,125,950 contract April 17 to Perini Management Services Inc. of Framingham, Massachusetts, for the design and construction of a smart grid energy control system at Tooele Army Depot in Tooele County, Utah.

    The Dalles Dam visitor center and tours reopen for summer

    The Dalles Dam visitor center will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays from May 1 until Memorial Day, and then every day through Labor Day. Tours of The Dalles Dam will be offered every Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. starting May 2.

    MOBILE, Ala –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announces the R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park and the road across West Point Dam will be closed to all vehicular traffic, at 6 p.m. Saturday April 25, 2015 thru 2 p.m., on Sunday April 26, 2015 for the 12th Annual West Point Lake Triathlon.

    Volunteers tackle projects during Take Pride in Blue Marsh Day

    Nearly 400 volunteers descended on Blue Marsh Lake in Leesport, Pa. for the 35th annual Take Pride in Blue Marsh Day. Volunteers worked on a variety of projects, including litter clean-up, nature trail maintenance, erosion control projects, wildlife habitat work and tree planting.
