  • Sandy Visitor Center receives a facelift

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District’s Sandy Lake Visitor’s Center has a new look. The district’s history committee recently completed a renovation there that included the tearing down of older displays, the research and design of new panels and the building and installation of new display cases and panels. The new look was unveiled at a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 17.

    By all accounts, Donna Sherman, the records manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District, embodies the quiet professional. The only permanent records management employee when she took charge of the records holding facility eight years ago, she now leads a staff of four employees who manage over 13,600 boxes of paper records for the district.

Public attendance is encouraged, and an opportunity is provided during each daily session for the public to address the Committee and the lead agencies, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, regarding the Missouri River Recovery Program.
