    ASHDOWN, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District began larger releases from Millwood Lake after flood waters downstream receded. Millwood crested June 14 at 282.9 feet, a new pool of record elevation. The Corps will continue to increase releases from Millwood, as channel capacity allows, until the lake elevation is back down to elevation 259 feet, the top of its conservation pool.

  • USACE to restrict Vehicle traffic on Buford Dam Road for maintenance activities

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Lake Sidney Lanier Project Management Office is scheduled to restrict a portion of Buford Dam Road, starting near Sawnee Campground (Forsyth County) and ending near Pannell Road (Gwinnett County) from Tuesday, June 16 to Thursday, June 18, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day for maintenance activities. Commuter traffic will be accomadated and allowed through before 8:30 and at 4 p.m. rush hour.

    The Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the first increment of the G-3273 and S-356 Pump Station Field Test are now available online. The first increment of the G-3273 and S-356 pump station field test will evaluate the raising or removing of the G-3273 constraint of 6.8 feet and holding the L-29 Canal stage at 7.5 feet to enable increased water deliveries to Everglades National Park. This is the first step in the incremental approach to develop the final operating plan for the Modified Water Deliveries to Everglades National Park and C-111 South Dade projects.
