    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be hosting an informal public information meeting on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, from 5 to 7 pm, at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 2201 F.G. Amin Street in Truth or Consequences, N.M., to discuss the upcoming remedial investigation at the former Deming Precision Bombing Range No. 24, which is located 25 miles southwest of Truth or Consequences.
  • National Public Lands Day at Wappapello Lake

    It's that time of year to pitch in for our public lands. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you or your organization to participate in this year’s National Public Lands Day events on Saturday, September 26, 2015. Caring individuals are asked to help remove trash and litter along roadways as well as other activities at Wappapello Lake. National Public Lands Day is celebrated annually at public lands in the United States on the last Saturday in September. A signature event of the National Environmental Education Foundation, it promotes both popular enjoyment and volunteer conservation of public lands. The national event is sponsored by the Toyota Motor Corporation.
  • Rend Lake Dam Road Closed for Routine Maintenance

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake is announcing that the Rend Lake Dam/Spillway Bridge will be closed to all through traffic from 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 - 17 at 4:30 p.m. Watch for closure signs at Sugar Creek parking lot and the west entrance to the Rend lake Dam. This closure is necessary to complete routine maintenance that began in August to be performed to the roadways, guardrails and the upstream face of the Dam.

  • Blood Drive Donors to Receive Free Camping

    The American Red Cross in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, September 17th at the Carlyle Lake Visitor Center from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The American Red Cross works diligently every day to keep an adequate supply of blood available. The need for blood is ongoing—24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In the United States a blood transfusion is needed every two seconds. The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give the gift of life to help meet the demand.
