  • Corps Closes Riverton Beach for Winter Months

    Vicksburg, Miss…… The Louisiana Field Office (LFO) of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District has officially closed Riverton Beach for the winter months, which marks the end of the summer recreational period. The beach is a part of the Corps’ 13-acre recreational area that is located north of Riverton, Louisiana, on the Ouachita River.

    Vicksburg, Miss…The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ is enforcing safety rules for all operators of Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs) at its Mississippi lakes at Arkabutla, Enid, Grenada, and Sardis. These rules apply to any motorized vehicle designed primarily for, or capable of, cross-country travel on or over land, water, sand, snow, ice, marsh, swampland, or any other natural terrain.

  • North Landing Bridge closed for emergency repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close the North Landing Bridge on Route 165 for emergency repairs beginning at 9 a.m. today. The bridge will be closed to vehicular and marine traffic as engineers perform the repairs, which are expected to be complete before 5 p.m. today.
