    17-118 Dam crossings closed on Thanksgiving; Lower Granite open Friday, Saturday, Sunday for vehicle crossings

    LOWER SNAKE RIVER, Wash. – If your upcoming Thanksgiving plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams on the river in Washington will be closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic. Lower Granite, near Pomeroy; Little Goose, near Starbuck; and Lower Monumental, near Kahlotus, will be closed to public vehicle crossings on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 23. Lower Granite will reopen for crossings on Friday, Nov. 24, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Pope Road closing for St. Augustine Beach renourishment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announces the closure of Pope Road in St. Augustine Beach starting November 27 for the next scheduled renourishment of the St. Johns County Shore Protection Project. Pope Road will be an equipment staging area, remaining closed for the duration of the project. Construction begins in November and will last for approximately four months (weather pending).

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District (USACE) has established a Debris Removal Information Line for property owners affected by last month’s devastating wildfires in Northern California.
