    Honolulu District Engineers Participating in 2018 National Engineers Week Activities

    FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii (Feb. 9, 2018) - - More than 250 engineers and friends of the 17 organizations within the Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies (HCES) plus invited local VIPs, dignitaries and engineers from the Honolulu District will gather at the Hale Koa Hotel Feb. 20 for a luncheon to kick off Engineers Week 2018, which runs Feb. 18-25.

    18-009 Little Goose debris-removal work to temporarily close dam to vehicle crossings Feb. 12-15

    STARBUCK, Wash. – Public vehicle traffic across Little Goose Lock and Dam will be temporarily suspended Monday through Thursday, Feb. 12-15, to accommodate river-debris collection and removal activities, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, operations officials at the dam.

    NR 18-003: Corps managing Cumberland River Basin for approaching rain

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 9, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is managing releases as appropriate at its dams on the Cumberland River and its tributaries in preparation of a forecasted rainfall event Feb 10-12. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for much of the Cumberland River Basin and is forecasting the potential for some rivers and streams to surpass flood stage.

    Corps of Engineers begins maintenance operations to relieve stress on Carters Lake Reregulation Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, recently began maintenance operations at the Carters Lake Reregulation Dam in Murray County, Ga. to relieve stress on the structure caused by concrete expansion. The district first noticed the expansion almost 20 years ago.

    Corps of Engineers lowering White River flows for barrier dam repairs

    SEATTLE – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials will lower White River flows from Mud Mountain Dam beginning February 11, 2018, to make repairs on the White River Diversion Dam near Buckley, Washington. Flows about 2,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) are expected February 11 and will reduce to 350 cfs by February 14 and remain there through February 16. Flows are reduced for worker safety while making the repairs.
