    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public comments on plans to unload 500,000 cubic yards of dredged material from Corps Island, near river mile 799 of the Upper Mississippi River.
  • Fort Pierce shore protection project operations to start soon

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announced that dredging operations related to the Fort Pierce Shore Protection Project will start mid-April. The project will place 385,000 cubic yards of sand on just under one mile of eroded beach in St. Lucie County. Sand placement will start immediately adjacent to the Fort Pierce Inlet South Jetty and move southward.

  • Corps extends public scoping period for Department of Army permit application 2017-271 Pebble Limited Partnership, Environmental Impact Statement

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District has allotted more time for the public scoping period for the environmental impact statement level of analysis for Department of Army permit application 2017-271 submitted by Pebble Limited Partnership. An additional 60 days has been added to the original 30-day public scoping period that began on April 1. Therefore, interested parties that would like to provide scoping input have until June 29 to submit.

  • Carlyle Lake Increasing Downstream Releases

    CARLYLE LAKE - As of 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2017 the pool elevation at Carlyle Lake was 451.91 feet, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD), with a release of approximately 5,660 cubic feet per second (cfs). The inflow for Wednesday, April 4, 2018 was approximately 17,660 day second feet (dsf). With current precipitation on the ground, Carlyle Lake is forecasted to crest at 453.2 NGVD on Saturday, April 7, 2018. In order to free up flood control storage in the lake and to continue to provide benefits to other project purposes, in accordance with the water control plan, downstream releases will increase to approximately 10,000 cfs on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Carlyle Lake Dam is operating as designed, helping to reduce stages on the Lower Kaskaskia and Mississippi Rivers.
