  • 18-008 Corps issues FONSI for City of Stites Wastewater System Improvement Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District issued a final Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the City of Stites Wastewater System Improvement Project on Feb. 6, 2018. The Corps plans to assist the City of Stites, Idaho (City) with upgrades to their wastewater system.

  • Lake Seminole to close several roads, access areas for interagency training exercise

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, announced today that Jim Woodruff Powerhouse Road and North River Landing Road at the Lake Seminole Project Management Office in Chattahoochee, Fla. will be closed to the public, March 4-6, for an interagency training exercise. During the same timeframe, the public will also be restricted from accessing the Lower Pool Access Area, West Bank Overlook, and the parking area adjacent to the Jim Woodruff Dam entrance.

  • 18-007 Dworshak increases flow discharge to 12,500 c.f.s.

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – Discharge flows from Dworshak Dam and Reservoir are being increased today, Feb. 7, 2018, beginning at about 4 p.m., from approximately 6,000 c.f.s. (cubic feet per second) to about 12,500 c.f.s. to make room in Dworshak Reservoir to meet seasonal flood-risk-management requirements. The water surface elevation of the mainstem Clearwater River is expected to increase by about 8-9 inches during this outflow increase, as measured at the U.S.G.S. streamgage located near Peck, Idaho, about 4 miles downstream of Ahsahka. Additional increases may be necessary as conditions change.

  • Reservoir system prepared for 2018 runoff season

    All 2017 stored flood waters were evacuated from the Missouri River mainstem reservoir system as of January 15, when the total volume stored in the System reached 56.1 million acre-feet, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Missouri River Water Management Division. “The System stands ready to capture spring runoff, reducing flood risk while providing support to other authorized project purposes,” said John Remus, Chief of the Missouri River Basin Water Management Division.
