• Cochiti swim beach to reopen for Memorial Day weekend

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, announced today that the swim beach at the lake will reopen for Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 25 to Monday, May 27, 2019, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. The swim beach will then be closed Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
  • CORPS UPDATES FLOW FORECAST FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has updated the flow forecast for the Arkansas River in Arkansas as rain continues to fall in the river’s drainage basin in Oklahoma and Kansas. The updated flows are expected to exceed the flows experienced in May of 1990.
  • 19-062 Boise River flows to decrease to 3,300 cfs on Friday

    BOISE, Idaho -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to reduce flows through the City of Boise to approximately 3,300 cubic feet per second (cfs) by late-morning on Friday, May 24. Currently, Boise River flows through town are approximately 3,800 cfs, as measured at the Glenwood Bridge gauge.

    MKARNS - Mariners are advised that flows on the Arkansas River are anticipated to exceed those from the May 1990 flood event due to persistent rainfall in Oklahoma. In May 1990 the peak flows were approximately 400,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) in Van Buren, 450,000 cfs in Little Rock and 420,000 cfs in Pine Bluff

  • Carlyle Lake Pool Update - May 23, 2019

    CARLYLE LAKE - As of 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, 23 May 2019 the pool elevation at Carlyle Lake was 446.63 feet, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD). The current release rate is   approximately 4,040 cubic feet per second (cfs). The inflow for Wednesday, 22 May 2019 was approximately 12,790 day second feet (dsf). With current precipitation on the ground, Carlyle Lake is forecasted to crest at 449.5 feet NGVD on Tuesday, 28 May 2019. Carlyle Lake Dam is operating as designed, helping reduce flood stages on the Lower Kaskaskia and Mississippi Rivers.

    LOWER SNAKE RIVER, Wash. – Lower Granite Lock and Dam, on the Snake River near Pomeroy, Washington, will be open for public vehicle crossings on Memorial Day, May 27. Walla Walla District operations officials want to remind the public of the holiday closure affecting two of three dams on the Snake River in Washington that normally allow public vehicle crossings – Little Goose, near Starbuck, and Lower Monumental, near Kahlotus.
