    Mark Twain Lake Announces Excess Debris on the Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake announces due to high water levels the lake has an excess amount of debris. This can create hazards on the lake as well as make some areas difficult to maneuver. This debris can also fluctuate and move throughout the day with wind patterns. Clarence Cannon Dam will also be near or at maximum release, utilizing tainter gates to release water, please take extra caution to stay away from the Dam. We ask that you stay aware while on the lake, avoid areas you may see with large amounts of debris, and wear a life jacket while on the water.

    Kids Fishing Tournament at East Lynn Lake

    HUNTINGTON, W.VA… The 19th annual “Kids Fishing Tournament” is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Lick Creek Pond at East Lynn Lake in East Lynn, W.Va.  The tournament features three age categories: 6 years old and under, 7 to 11 years old, and 12 to 15 years old. Trophies will be given to participants who catch the most, smallest, and largest fish within the three age categories. Sign-in begins at 8:45 a.m., fishing starts at 9:30 a.m., and the tournament will end at 11:30 a.m.

    (May 30, 2019) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District is extending the public comment period for the draft Chicago Area Waterway System (CAWS) Dredged Material Management Plan (DMMP), and integrated Environmental Impact Statement from 45 to 60 days. The comment period began on May 3, 2019, and the new closing date is July 2, 2019 (changed from the original 45-day closing date of June 17, 2019).
