    Corps releases East Lake Toho Drawdown and Habitat Restoration Final EIS for public comment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District released the East Lake Tohopekaliga Drawdown and Habitat Enhancement (East Lake Toho) Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for public comment. Public comments are due by September 3, 2019.

    USACE Galveston District to host Summer Stakeholder Partnering Forum

    GALVESTON, Texas (August 2, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District will host an External Project Review Board and Summer Stakeholder Partnering Forum (SPF), respectively, on Aug. 13-14, 2019, at the Texas A&M University, Galveston (TAMU-G) Campus, Aggie Special Events Center (Bldg 3035, Rm 203). The theme of the SPF is Leveraging Civil Works Opportunities to Drive the Dominance of America’s Energy Coast.

    Vicksburg District Announces Emergency Timber Sale at Bayou Bodcau

    VICKSBURG, MISS…The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District announces an emergency timber sale for agricultural lands located in Bossier and Webster parishes, Bayou Bodcau, Louisiana. These tracts of real property contain 10,200 acres in three sections in Bossier Parish and 5,300 acres in two sections in Webster Parish. The Vicksburg District will receive sealed bids for Notice of Availability No. DACW38-9-19-158 at 11 am August 14, 2019.

    Corps commemorates the new Fall Creek Adult Fish Collection Facility

    In spring 2018, the Corps completed the Fall Creek Adult Fish Collection Facility in April 2018 to collect returning native salmon and transport them upstream to spawn. The Corps commemorated this facility on May 23, 2019 with stakeholders, partners and tribes on the 50th year of the Willamette Valley Project's operation.

    Corps of Engineers awards contracts for Maumee Bay and Maumee River dredging

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District has awarded a $2.122 million contract to conduct dredging of the federal navigation channel in Maumee Bay, and a $787,000 contract for the Maumee River dredging to occur during 2019, located along Lake Erie in Toledo Harbor, in the City of Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.
