  • USACE receives new biological opinion on 2012 Nationwide Permits

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has received a final biological opinion from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Fisheries on the USACE nationwide permits that were reissued on Feb. 13, 2012, and went into effect on March 19, 2012. The biological opinion was issued on Nov. 24, 2014, and it concludes the re-initiated programmatic consultation on the Endangered Species Act that began in July 2012 between the two agencies.

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers deployed a team with engineering and engineering-related expertise to Liberia in support of Operation United Assistance, which is part of the comprehensive U.S. Government Ebola effort in West Africa led by the U.S. Agency for International Development.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Releases Work Plans for Fiscal Year 2014 Civil Works Appropriations

    Washington - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers yesterday delivered to Congress its Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) work plans for the Army Civil Works program. President Obama on January 17 signed into law the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, 2014, Division D of Public Law 113-76, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014, providing $5.467 billion in FY14 appropriations for the Army Civil Works program.
  • President's Fiscal 2015 Budget for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Civil Works released

    Washington - The President’s Budget for fiscal year 2015 includes $4.561 billion in gross discretionary funding for the Civil Works program of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which is offset in part by a proposal to cancel $28 million in unobligated carryover of funds previously appropriated.

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it will waive day use fees for veterans, active and reserve component service members, and their families at the more than 2,400 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide on Veterans Day, November 11.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces closure of all Regulatory Offices due to federal government shutdown

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today announced it will close its Regulatory offices due to the absence of available federal funding. During the closure, Regulatory offices will be unable to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications for nationwide permit or regional general permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations until after current year funding is received and the offices reopen.
  • Army Corps of Engineers waives fees on National Public Lands Day, Sept. 28

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it will waive day use fees at its more than 2,400 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day on Sept. 28. On this day, fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches will be waived.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ trails designated as National Recreation Trails

    WASHINGTON –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that five of its recreation trails have been designated national recreation trails by the U.S. Department of the Interior. The five are among 28 trails nationwide designated this year as new national recreation trails, and will join the national network of more than 1,200 previously designated trails that encompass more than 14,000 miles of existing trails and trail systems.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Releases Work Plans for Fiscal Year 2013 Civil Works Appropriations

    Washington- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released its work plans, or spending plans, through the end of Fiscal Year 2013 for five appropriation accounts in the Army Civil Works program. President Obama signed the Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013, Division F of Public Law 113-6, into law on March 26, 2013. The Act provided total FY13 appropriations for the Army Civil Works program of $4.972 billion.
  • DoDEA , Army Corps of Engineers Form STEM Partnership

    ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Department of Defense Education Activity and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are partnering to advance Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in DoDEA classrooms around the world. The initiative becomes official at a Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony to be held on May 20, at 1 p.m., at Ashurst Elementary School located on Marine Corps Base Quantico.
  • Interagency Military Pass waives day-use fees at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreation sites nationwide

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced it will continue to accept the America the Beautiful Federal Recreation Pass Program’s Interagency Annual Pass for Military (Military Pass) at its more than 2,500 USACE-managed recreation areas nationwide.
