Nashville District opening campgrounds, recreation areas in June
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 14, 2020) – As part of a phased approach for reopening facilities as part of its COVID-19 reopening plan, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is opening its corps-managed campgrounds within the Cumberland River Basin in Tennessee June 1, 2020.

COVID 19: San Francisco District to open public boat ramp at Lake Sonoma May 16
In accordance with a May 12, 2020 update to the Sonoma County Health Order, Lake Sonoma will start opening parts of the park for public use. The plan is to open the Public Boat Ramp and Marina for lake surface use on Saturday, May 16, 9 AM. The Visitor Center Parking lot will be open for vessel inspections only. At this time, all other recreation areas will remain closed.

Nashville District extends campgrounds closure through end of May
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 7, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is extending its closure of 25 Corps-managed campgrounds within the Cumberland River Basin in Kentucky and Tennessee through at least May 31 in the interest of public safety due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We want to thank all of our workers out there making this alternate care center ha reality. USACE announces the closing of recently opened parks at Whitney Lake
The Fort Worth District closed Soldiers Bluff and Walling Bend Parks at Whitney Lake on June 9 due to recent safety concerns. In recent weeks, large crowds have been gathering in and around Soldiers Bluff and Walling Bend Park. The size of the crowds, some estimated to have been as large as 600 people, have caused concern for public safety related to COVID-19. In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, USACE urged customers to follow social distancing and other CDC guidelines as parks were reopened in May. The recent crowds at Soldiers Bluff and Walling Bend Park have not been in compliance with those COVID19 CDC guidelines.

Army Corps of Engineers begins gradual reopening of recreation areas closed due to Coronavirus
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that it has begun the gradual reopening of some USACE-managed recreation areas that were closed to protect against the further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The health and safety of USACE personnel, contractors, volunteers and the visiting public remain our highest priority. Reopening of closed recreation areas will vary from location to location based on state and local conditions, as well as each project’s ability to put in place COVID-19 safety precautions.

Corps of Engineers announce phased reopening of campgrounds
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District is planning a phased reopening of campsites and recreation areas closed due to COVID-19, to begin immediately. The decision to reopen each recreation area is based largely on the safety of the staff and visitors. Each lake is going through a conditions-based assessment to verify all staff can return to work safely and will have the proper personal protection equipment available. In addition, they are confirming the availability of contractors and staff who help operate and maintain the recreation areas and implementing operational changes to address COVID-19 concerns in campgrounds.
