  • Music City workshop tunes up tribal consultations

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 16, 2015) – State and federal agency representatives met in Music City this week to tune up and improve how they consult with tribal nations in a workshop hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District.
  • CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR LOWER ARKANSAS RIVER

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the lower Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.
  • FISH COVER PERMITS AVAILABLE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office is offering a limited number of fish cover permits for Norfork and Bull Shoals lakes. A fish cover permit allows an individual to cut up to six cedar trees, six inches or smaller in diameter at the stump, from designated areas of the shoreline and sink them into the lake for fish habitat.
  • CORPS REPAIRS TO ALTER MINIMUM FLOW RELEASE SATURDAY FROM BULL SHOALS DAM

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark.-The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will be inspecting and testing recently completed construction work from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Bull Shoals power switchyard. For safety reasons, the dam cannot produce hydroelectric power during this inspection.
  • CORPS ACCEPTS YOUTH MUZZLELOADER DEER HUNT APPLICATIONS

    The Army Corps of Engineers is reminding the public that it’s accepting applications through Oct. 31 for a youth muzzleloader hunt to be held Dec.13 and 14 at Ozark Isle Park on Bull Shoals Lake. Ten permits will be issued to hunter education graduates, 15 years old and under.
  • Fishing Access Road at Cooks Landing Park to be Closed During Repair

    The Army Corps of Engineers advises that the access road from Cooks Landing Park to the North Little Rock Hydroelectric Power Plant and fishing access parking lot will be closed beginning Thursday Sept. 25 for repairs.
  • ONE LANE OF HIGHWAY 60 ACROSS TOAD SUCK LOCK AND DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    One lane of Highway 60 across Toad Suck Lock and Dam will be closed from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. Aug. 25-26. During the lane closure maintenance will be performed on the dam.
  • Corps to begin Millwood Lake Drawdown August 15

    The Army Corps of Engineers will begin a drawdown Aug. 15 on Millwood Lake for bank stabilization work at Cottonshed Park.
  • ARKANSAS RIVER INSPECTION SET TO BEGIN

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The largest towboat ever built in the United States, the Motor Vessel Mississippi, is a sight to see. This 241-foot-long workhorse for the Army Corps of Engineers will travel down the Arkansas River Aug. 12-14, and the Corps invites the public to view it as it moves downstream.
