  • Corps approves Deepwater Wind’s permit request to construct five wind turbines off Block Island coast

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District on Sept. 4, 2014 approved the Deepwater Wind Block Island, LLC, and Deepwater Wind Block Island Transmission System, LLC, permit request to construct five wind turbine generators and do other work off the southeast coast of Block Island, Rhode Island.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to host public meeting on proposed Coral World project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will host a public meeting Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library, 4607 Tutu Park Mall, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands beginning at 6 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to receive public comments concerning the permit application by Coral World, Inc. to construct a nearshore dolphin exhibit enclosure and landside support and visitor education center at Coral World Ocean Park at Water Bay in St. Thomas.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District has issued a Public Notice concerning an application by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for a Department of the Army permit to conduct restoration activities on 11 lakes and water bodies in the FWC’s North Central Region.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host its final Regulatory Division Open House Wed., Sept. 3 at 8:30 a.m. at the Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library, 4607 Tutu Park Mall, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The Corps will also host a public meeting Thurs., Sept. 25 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Charles. W.   • Same service but new location for Western Regulatory Field Office

    DECATUR, Ala. (Aug. 1, 2014) – The Nashville District’s Western Regulatory Field Office relocated this week to a new location in Decatur, Ala. Its staff assists with processing permits pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act in the Tennessee River Basin from Guntersville Dam to Kentucky Dam.

  • Lake Shelbyville Tree Stand Permits now available for 2014-15 Deer Season

    Lake Shelbyville – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like to announce that the Lake Shelbyville Tree Stand Policy for this season are now available and will remain the same as it was last season. Seasonal and Roving tree stand permits may be obtained from the Lake Shelbyville Project Office Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Bo Wood, Coon Creek or Lithia Springs Fee Booths during operating hours.

  • Corps signs Commonwealth Crossing permit

    The Norfolk District authorized the environmental permit to develop the Commonwealth Crossing Business Center in Henry County, Va. here today. The Henry County Industrial Development Authority agreed to the proffered permit sent by Norfolk District last week, which allowed Col. Paul Olsen, Norfolk District commander, to finalize and authorize the permit.

  • Corps announces closure of Regulatory offices due to government shutdown

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District today announced it will close its Regulatory offices due to the absence of available federal funding. Regulatory offices will be unable to evaluate individual permit applications, Pre-Construction Notifications for Nationwide Permit or Regional General Permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations until after current year funding is received and the offices reopen.
