    A public meeting to discuss the updates to the Water Control Manuals for dams on the Lower Kansas River in Waverly, Missouri on August 17, 2023, will be held by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more how USACE uses the Water Control Manuals at each of its reservoirs, how the Missouri River both influences and is impacted, how these updates will be accomplished and to provide their input.

    Updates to Water Control Manuals and reviews of the Water Control Plans for Milford, Tuttle Creek, Perry and Clinton Dams and Reservoirs will be the subject of a series of public meetings held by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, from early to mid-August 2023. The public is invited to learn more about how USACE uses the Water Control Manuals at each of its reservoirs, how the updates will be done and to provide their input. The meetings are being publicized together because many people visit more than one reservoir in a year or have interests in water resources encompassing more than one location.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake announces the opening of the application process for its annual Special Archery Hunt at Bloomington, Rockhaven and Woodridge parks to be held November 1 - December 31, 2020. Applications are due Sept. 7, 2020. This is a specially permitted, archery-only hunting event. Hunting is not usually allowed in the park areas at Clinton Lake; however, the Corps hosts this annual hunt in areas that are closed to public hunting to prevent overpopulation of deer.
  • Clinton Lake dam road closure related to COVID-19

    The road across Clinton Dam (E 900 Road) will be closed as of 9:00 a.m. on April 7, 2020, until further notice due to unsafe gatherings and parking conditions near the south end of the dam. This decision was made in conjunction with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department with the safety of our visitors and community in mind.

  • Corps of Engineers update on Kansas River Basin reservoir operations

    Conditions in the Kansas and Missouri River Basins continue to present challenges for releasing water from the four Kansas reservoirs which are holding high water levels behind their dams: Milford Lake, Tuttle Creek Lake, Perry Lake and Clinton Lake. Project technicians plan to begin releases Monday, June 3, 2019, with a release of 4,000 cfs: releases from Milford Lake take about six days to reach the Missouri River.

Applications are due to the Clinton Lake Visitor Center by Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 by 4 p.m. The Special Archery Hunt will be held Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, 2018.

    LAWRENCE, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake will dewater the lake’s water control structures to perform a dam safety inspection from Apr. 17 through Apr. 24, 2018. For the safety of the public and lake personnel, access to the outlet channel and immediate area will be closed during this time.
