  • USACE to host in-person public meeting to review the Proctor Lake Master Plan and Shoreline Management Plan Revision

    The Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a public meeting on March 19, 2024 at the Comanche County Courtroom of the Comanche County Courthouse – 101 W. Central Ave., Comanche, Texas 76442 to provide information and receive public input on the Draft Proctor Lake Master Plan, Shoreline Management Plan, and Environmental Assessments. The meeting will begin with a brief presentation at 4:00 p.m. followed by an open house for the public to view the proposed land use and shoreline maps, ask questions, and provide comments about the project. If you are unable to attend the in-person meeting, documents will be provided for comment at the website listed below.

    Officials with the Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Canyon Lake are closing Boat Ramp 17 due to dropping lake levels. The closure will be effective Friday, November 3.

  • Making a difference, one project at a time

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers utilizes volunteers as a workforce multiplier across the nation which resulted in an equivalent value of more than $45 million in volunteer hours last year. Volunteers are filling roles at lakes across the nation. More than 2,100 volunteers assisted the Fort Worth District in 2022. Thanks to the volunteers, many of the lakes were able to complete projects that would have otherwise been delayed.

    Engineers from four U.S. Army Corps of Engineer (USACE) districts have been selected for the 2021 session of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center University (ERDC-U). Now in its sixth year, ERDC-U pairs USACE division and district participants with relevant laboratory mentors for six-month research projects.
