    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is reducing outflows into the Sheyenne River at Baldhill Dam, located northwest of Valley City, North Dakota, to approximately 50 cubic feet per second, or cfs, beginning Sunday, July 28.
  • Thurmond Lake officials seek volunteers for National Public Lands Day 2019

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks individual and group volunteers for the annual Thurmond Lake cleanup campaign on National Public Lands Day, Sept. 28, 2019. Volunteers will work on a variety of projects including debris cleanup, brush clearing, and trail and park maintenance along the shoreline, islands, recreation areas, coves, old road ends and bridge areas.
  • Norfolk District begins James River dredging

    NORFOLK, Va. – James River Federal Navigation Project engineers are ramping up efforts to minimize shoaling effects and improve safe navigation along Central Virginia’s winding watershed. Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Cottrell Contracting Corp. commenced maintenance dredging Sunday in the 7.6-mile Dancing Point-Swann Point channel.
