  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Campgrounds at Wappapello to Open Soon

    Wappapello Lake – Keeping in line with state and federal guidelines, the Corps of Engineers is pleased to announce Corps operated campgrounds at Wappapello Lake will open for the season just in time for the Memorial Day Holiday weekend! All Corps campgrounds will open on Friday, May 22. This includes all of Greenville, Redman Creek and Peoples Creek campgrounds (developed campgrounds) as well as all primitive campgrounds and primitive camping.

  • Corps Opens Campgrounds in West Virginia

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, has released its West Virginia campground schedule for 2020. Following the Governor of West Virginia campground operating guidelines ( https://governor.wv.gov/Pages/The-Comeback.aspx ), only West Virginia residents will be permitted to enter campgrounds until further notice. If you currently have a camping reservation and are not a West Virginia resident please do the following: Cancel your reservation dates on www.recreation.gov through June 9, 2020. All reservation fees for cancelled days will be automatically refunded.

  • Corps Modifies Woodcock Lake Park Operations for 2020 Recreation Season

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is informing the public that select facilities at Woodcock Lake Park in Saegertown, Pennsylvania will open for the 2020 summer recreation season Memorial Day weekend.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will reopen select campgrounds at its Arkansas lakes – Lake Ouachita, Lake Greeson and DeGray Lake – beginning May 20.

  • Army Corps delays Albeni Falls Dam recreation season

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) officials at Albeni Falls Dam have delayed its recreation season. Subject to state and federal changes in guidance the Corps is now tentatively scheduled to open Albeni Falls Dam recreation areas on June 19. The delay provides greater flexibility to contractors and protects against further spread of the coronavirus.

    LANCASTER, Tenn. (May 8, 2020) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Center Hill Recreation Area, located adjacent to Center Hill Dam, is once again opening for public use beginning Friday, May 8, 2020.  Center Hill Recreation Area has been closed since 2008 as a result of construction activities related to the Center Hill Dam Rehabilitation Project.

  • Corps of Engineers Suspends Collection of Day Use Fees, Campground Closures Continue until June 1

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District has suspended the collection of day use fees until Oct. 1. These suspended fees apply to all open recreation areas within the District. This includes recreation areas at Saylorville Lake, Lake Red Rock, Coralville Lake and those located along the Mississippi River between Potosi, Wisconsin and Saverton, Missouri.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District (Corps) is relaxing restrictions at some recreation sites in Oregon and Washington, Thursday, May 7th as the first phase in a gradual relaxing of closures at Corps locations.

  • Nashville District extends campgrounds closure through end of May

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 7, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is extending its closure of 25 Corps-managed campgrounds within the Cumberland River Basin in Kentucky and Tennessee through at least May 31 in the interest of public safety due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
