  • 20-020 Corps applies new restrictions at Lucky Peak Dam and Lake

    Boise, Idaho. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is applying the following restrictions at Lucky Peak Dam and Lake, effective immediately:
  • Corps’ Kansas City District campsite and shelter reservation closures extended through 1 June

    Due to the ongoing concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District has extended its recreation area closures through June 1, 2020.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Facility Closures at Wappapello Lake Continue

    Efforts to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff members continue as Corps of Engineers staff at Wappapello Lake plan for the reopening of Corps recreation areas as soon as practical, given the situation with the COVID-19 virus.  With this said, state and federal guidelines are being used to make decisions on facility operations. It is important to note changes in these guidelines are quickly evolving and we are developing plans to reopen facilities that can change with short notice.  The Corps will do everything possible to announce those decisions via Facebook and through our local media partners.
  • Corps Encourages Responsible Recreation for Earth Day

    Although the 50th anniversary of Earth Day is taking place during a worldwide pandemic, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District recreation sites still provide visitors an opportunity to enjoy nature responsibly.
  • Locks and Dam 14 Auxiliary Lock to Remain Closed

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – Due to ongoing construction and concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, the Rock Island District will not be opening the auxiliary lock at Locks and Dam 14 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, as scheduled on Memorial Day. The date of anticipated opening is unknown at this time.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Extends Closures Due to COVID-19

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – Due to the ongoing concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District has extended its recreation area closures through May 31.
  • Huntington District to close additional day use recreational areas

    HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - In the interest of public safety due to COVID-19 concerns, and in accordance with Center for Disease Control recommendations, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntington District will be closing these additional Corps-managed day use recreational areas.
  • Corps of Engineers Extends Facility Closures at Wappapello Lake

    Wappapello Lake – In an effort to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff members, the Wappapello Lake Project Office and Visitor Center, all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps of Engineers) campgrounds, fish cleaning stations, swim beaches, and playgrounds at Wappapello Lake will remain closed until further notice.
  • Corps of Engineers closes its Blackhawk Park due to high water

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is temporarily closing its Blackhawk Park, located near De Soto, Wisconsin, today, April 3, due to high river levels. This will affect the day use areas and fishing access.
  • Agencies Encourage Outdoor Enthusiasts to “Do The Right Thing”

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District has partnered with more than a dozen federal, state and local agencies in and around the Columbia River Gorge to encourage outdoor enthusiasts to “do the right thing” and comply with public health directives to stay home and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
