    SOMERSET, Ky. (March 18, 2021) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is closing Waitsboro Recreation Area at Lake Cumberland for roadway repairs March 19-24, 2021. The boat ramp and parking lot will not be accessible by the public at this time. The recreation area is reopening to the public 8 a.m. March 25, 2021.

    SILVER POINT, Tenn. (March 17, 2021) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is closing Floating Mill Recreation Area at Center Hill Lake Thursday, March 18, through Sunday, March 21. The ramp, shelter, beach, and restroom facilities are not accessible due to maintenance and restriping of parking lots. The recreation area will be fully reopened to the public 8 a.m. March 22, 2021.
  • Corps considers plan to reduce Detroit Reservoir maximum pool elevation

    Portland District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers considers a plan to reduce Detroit Reservoir’s maximum pool elevation by five feet beginning this summer to reduce the likelihood of overstressing the spillway gates during a large earthquake, which might impact boat ramp access in some years.
  • USACE Vicksburg District partially closes Engineer Point boat ramp parking lot at Sardis Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will close the Engineer Point lower boat ramp parking lot at Sardis Lake on Monday to repair high water damage.

  • Louisville District announces new long-term camping policy at select sites

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District announced a new long-term camping policy for select USACE managed campground sites in the Green River Area, where customers will be able to reserve a campsite for a maximum 90-day period. This policy will be implemented in a two-year trial period, beginning Mar 11, 2021.

    CELINA, Tenn. (March 11, 2021) – The Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Passes for the expiration year of 2022 are now available for digital online purchase. Each annual pass is valid one year from the date of purchase and costs $40.
  • NR 21-07: Recreation area fees resume March 15 at Center Hill Lake

    LANCASTER, Tenn. (March 10, 2021) – Center Hill Lake, which is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, is resuming the collection of fees at its day use recreation areas for the 2021 recreation season beginning March 15, 2021.  Fee collection was previously suspended during 2020 due to COVID-19.
  • 2021 runoff forecast remains below average; Virtual spring public meeting set for April 6

    *** Updated to add links to schedule for virtual public meetings *** Reservoir inflows in the Missouri River basin above Sioux City, Iowa (upper Basin) were well-below average in February. The 2021 calendar year runoff forecast for the upper basin remains below average. “Very cold February temperatures in the upper Basin locked up tributaries in ice and reduced inflows to the System reservoirs,” said John Remus, chief of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’, Missouri River Basin Water Management Division. “Mountain snowpack continues to accumulate in the Rocky Mountains; however, plains snowpack is well-below seasonal averages and soil moisture continues to be much drier than normal.”
