    BRANSON, Mo. -- The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will hold two open houses March 7-8 in Branson to release the final revised Table Rock Master Plan. All interested persons are invited.

    When Deputy Counsel Ralph Allen from the Little Rock District Corps of Engineers was 13-years-old his grandfather took him on a tour through Europe explaining what the United States and Allies endured during World War II. What Allen didn’t know as boy is that his grandfather was a Monuments Man charged with preserving the history and architecture of the war torn country during the world’s darkest hours. The recent release of George Clooney’s new film “Monuments Men,” has propelled Allen and his family to research the legacy of their beloved grandfather.
  • MILLWOOD LAKE’S WHITE CLIFFS PARK NOW RESERVABLE

    ASHDOWN, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Millwood Project Office announces that campsites at White Cliffs Park on Millwood Lake will be reservable beginning Feb. 12. Campers can reserve a site online at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Visitors can make reservations at the park beginning March 1.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District is hosting a public workshop Feb. 5 to discuss the partial closure of Lick Creek Park because of budget constraints. The park’s boat launch ramp and parking lot will remain open.
  • Ozark Isle Park Causeway to Temporarily Close

    Mountain Home, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office is closing the causeway at Ozark Isle Park on Bull Shoals Lake beginning Monday, Jan. 27. The road into the park will be closed for about one month while maintenance crews repair the road.
  • Corps to host public meeting on study to prevent Asian carp transfer between Mississippi River and Great Lakes basins

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the White House Council on Environmental Quality are hosting a public meeting in Bloomington Jan. 27, 2014, from 4 - 7 p.m. to discuss the Great Lakes and Mississippi River Interbasin Study, or GLMRIS, report that was submitted to Congress Jan. 6, 2014, and to allow for public comment. The report presents a range of options and technologies available to prevent the spread of aquatic nuisance species, such as Asian carp, between the Great Lakes and Mississippi River basins through aquatic connections.

    Park rangers from the Mountain Home Project Office braved 20 mph winds and 30 degree temperatures on Jan. 4 to ensure 10 youth hunters from around the state could participate in the 2013 Ozark Isle Youth Hunt.

    A new Middle School will be constructed at the Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Mass., under the terms of a $31,687,000.00 contract issued recently by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.
