• 22-039 Boise River flows increase June 9 to support salmon migration and with late snow, Lucky Peak will now fill in time for Father’s Day Weekend

    BOISE, Idaho – Cool conditions, a slow melt of remaining snowpack, and several precipitation events have added significant water to the Boise River basin allowing Lucky Peak to begin filling to normal full pool (3,055 feet above mean sea level) and the Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin increasing flows downstream of Lucky Peak Dam to provide additional water for salmon migration in the lower Snake and Columbia rivers.

  • Oahe Project Resumes Powerhouse Tours; Visitor Center Summer Hours Set

    The Oahe Project is once again offering tours of the Oahe Powerhouse. Public walk-in tours will be available Tuesday through Saturday beginning May 28 or June 4 and ending on September 6. Tours will start at the Oahe Visitor Center on top of the east end of the dam along Highway 1804.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Buffalo District awarded a $4.75 million contract to Michigan-based Dean Marine Excavating on June 2, for repairs to the Oswego Harbor west arrowhead breakwater and the foundation of the Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse in Oswego, N.Y.
  • Two St. Louis District Teams take home awards

    Two U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District Teams, were awarded Excellence in Government Awards by the St. Louis Federal Executive Board, May 24, 2022, during a ceremony in Forest Park.  The Temporary Roofing Planning and Response Team (commonly referred to as the Blue Roof Team). “Competition was fierce this year,” said Andy Kaiser, Deputy Director, St. Louis Federal Executive Board, with regard to the awards that are bestowed annually to federal agencies who ‘stand out’ amongst their peers. “The work done by the St. Louis District Blue Roof Team and Project Inclusion Committee went above and beyond what could have been expected.”
