    CHICAGO -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Geological Survey, released an interim report for the Asian Carp Environmental DNA Calibration Study, today, which is a three-year study funded through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, as scoped by the Asian Carp Regional Coordinating Committee Asian Carp Control Strategy Framework.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Jacksonville District has published a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate the A-1 Shallow Flow Equalization Basin (FEB) project proposed by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The draft document is available for public review and comment through April 8, 2013.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District invites public comments on a Pest Management Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). Comments are due to the Corps no later than March 7, 2013. The District is required to control noxious weeds and invasive species on federal lands under its jurisdiction. The EA evaluates pest management alternatives and documents potential environmental impacts.     TULSA, Okla.- The off-road vehicle area at Eufaula Lake is a popular place for visitors during summer holidays, but for two cousins, their visit almost took a tragic turn. After nearly drowning, the two had to be rescued. Oklahoma Marine Enforcement Section Trooper Danny Choate and Eufaula Lake park rangers Eric Fassio and Chris Gilliland participated in the rescue and were recently recognized for their efforts with lifesaving awards presented by Tulsa District commander Col. Michael Teague.
