    Compton Creek, a concrete-lined channel feeding into the Los Angeles County Drainage System, is beset by conditions prevalent in many of our nation’s waterways: debris, maintenance issues, and a lack plants, wildlife and recreation, to name a few. If students at Compton High School have anything to say, that may change some day.
  • Arthur Kill Channel Deepening Provides safe and economically efficient pathway for the newest generation of container ships

    A dredge in the Arthur Kill Channel approaching the New York Container Terminal in waters off of Elizabeth, N.J. and Staten Island. The Arthur Kill Channel deepening effort is one of the last construction elements as part of a more extensive harbor-dredging project to create safe and efficient channels for a larger class of vessels that will be calling at the Port of New York and New Jersey.
  • USACE Galveston District awards $1.8 million Sims Bayou contract

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract to Kimrick Performance Group LLC, a 8(a) small business, in the amount of $1,877,831 for construction of a wider channel bottom that will enable larger storm water conveyance at Sims Bayou, in the vicinity of Hiram Clarke and Buxley bridges.

  • Truman lake Cove closed for Zebra Mussel Treatment

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Missouri Department of Conservation Officials are working together to try and prevent the spread of Zebra mussels in Truman Lake. Zebra Mussels were discovered on the Grand River Arm of Truman Lake adjacent to the Tightwad boat launching ramp earlier this month. Therefore the cove located adjacent to Sky Village known as County Line Boat Ramp will be closed beginning Sunday evening, Sept, 29 for approximately 48-72 hours in order to execute the treatment.

    The Asbury Park to Avon-by-the-Sea, New Jersey contract for the placement of roughly1.2M cubic yards of sand is the fourth of four contracts to restore Sea Bright to Manasquan Inlet project area. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District awarded a contract to place approximately 1.2 million cubic yards of sand to restore beaches from Asbury Park to Avon-by-the-Sea, New Jersey as part of an emergency shore protection project which repairs and restores previously constructed beach erosion control projects throughout the region affected by Hurricane Sandy.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District awarded a contract for the construction of the east apron and hangar located at Al Musanah Air Base, Oman. Awarded on Sept. 26, the contract went to CDM/CAPE JV of Cambridge, Mass., for $15.4 million.
