• USACE participates in the Society of American Military Engineers Small Business Conference

    Dor the 4th year in a row, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers exceeded its small business goal. The tremendous success in contracting with small businesses is significantly attributable to transparent communication and training offered to small businesses across the Nation. USACE maintains an open door for meetings/counseling/training small business firms throughout the year.

It was 1963, and the residents of a small Arkansas town nestled at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains were eagerly awaiting the arrival of one of the most important persons on earth. President John F. Kennedy was set to address the people of Heber Springs, Ark., and thousands of others who would converge on the small town to hear him speak at the dedication of Greers Ferry Dam October 3.
  • "National Water Trail" Designation for Lake Red Rock

    The Red Rock Trail at Lake Red Rock, Knoxville, Iowa, has officially been designated as a National Water Trail by the National Park Service. Joining the Red Rock Trail is The Island Loop Route Water Trail in Michigan and The Missouri National Recreation River Water Trail that flows through South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa. These three trails join 11 previously dedicated water trails across the country.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Nov. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $21,253,000 to Weeks Marine, Inc. for maintenance dredging of the Bayport Flare and Houston Ship Channel.
