    Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District recently spoke to students of Langston University in Langston, Okla. about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) internship and career opportunities at the Corps as part of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) allowing STEM collaboration between the university and Tulsa District.

    The Salang Tunnel is a vital link connecting Afghanistan with Central Asia and Russia, but in the past 49 years the tunnel had deteriorated into a deathtrap. In 2012 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) began short-term improvements. Just one year later, the Corps is ready to flip the switch on the final repairs.

  • Low water levels close Black Butte Lake’s Buckhorn boat ramp

    Due to low water conditions, Buckhorn boat ramp at Black Butte Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park near Orland, has been closed. Boats may still be launched from the ramp in Eagle Pass Recreation Area and Buckhorn Campground remains open on a first-come basis throughout the winter.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Dec. 3, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $8,054,750 to Orion Marine Inc., to perform maintenance dredging within the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, specifically from the inner basin (lower bay) to Beacon 82 (upper bay) and the La Quinta Junction and channel, in Nueces County, Texas.
