    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District at West Point Lake provides shoreline cleanup. Recent heavy rains have brought lots of run-off from swollen streams and the Chattahoochee River into West Point Lake. This run-off brings with it the trash, debris and litter that people throw out on roadsides, parking lots and yards.

    Maj. Gen. John Peabody addressed members of the Society of American Military Engineers at their 28th annual joint breakfast meeting Jan. 17 in Montebello, Calif.
