    The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

    CARLYLE LAKE – On Thursday, November 6, 2014 a dedication ceremony will be held to commemorate the renaming of the Kaskaskia Lock and Dam to the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam. The ceremony will be held at ten o’clock in the morning adjacent to the pavilion at the upstream boat ramp of the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam (formerly the Kaskaskia River Project Lock and Dam).
