  • Army Corps corrects water release schedule at Francis E. Walter Dam

    PHILADELPHIA (August 17, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps Engineers’ Philadelphia District has updated the schedule for the 2015 Francis E. Walter Dam recreation plan with a correction. On Aug. 7, the Army Corps posted a news release with several incorrect dates for additional whitewater and fisheries releases, which were added because enough water storage has accumulated in the reservoir. Precipitation throughout the early part of the summer has enabled the Army Corps to add the first eight increments of the plan, which includes 4 additional whitewater releases and fisheries enhancement water releases from July 25-Oct. 8.
