    Natomas basin construction highlights nearly $200 million for Sacramento District projects

    Funding to begin construction in the Natomas basin leads the list of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District projects receiving funds for fiscal year 2016. Nearly $200 million is included for 16 flood risk reduction and ecosystem restoration projects.

    USACE Recreation Fee Changes

    Johnston, Iowa - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in Washington D.C. has implemented changes in the recreation day use fees charged for boat launches and swimming beaches managed by USACE. These fees were last changed in 2002 and are adjusted to be comparable to fees charged by other local providers with similar facilities and services. Changes were effective January 1st and will impact the 2016 recreation season.

    Corps employee takes to the slopes to assist adaptive skiers

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 12, 2016) – Individuals with special needs from the southern region of the United States spend time on the mountainous ski slopes every winter thanks to the help of many volunteers. A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers electrical equipment mechanic often spends a portion of the winter at an eastern Tennessee ski resort supporting the free ski clinic for dozens of adaptive skiers.
