  • Linde Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program Site Cleanup Complete and Site Closeout Report Available

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District announces the completion and availability of the site closeout report detailing the successful cleanup of the Linde Site located at 175 East Park Drive in Tonawanda, New York, under the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP).
  • Release Plans Announced for Jamestown and Pipestem Reservoirs

    Pipestem Reservoir is currently at pool elevation 1443.9 feet, which results in 0.9 percent of the flood pool occupied. Inflows are currently 10 cubic feet per second (cfs) with no reservoir release. Jamestown Reservoir is currently at pool elevation 1430.8 feet, which is 0.2 feet below the base of the flood pool. Inflows are minimal with no reservoir release. The maximum combined release from the reservoirs is not expected to exceed 200 cfs this summer; however, significant rainfall could necessitate higher release levels. The upper James River basin is currently in abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions according to the US Drought Monitor, which could decrease rainfall runoff into the reservoirs.

    Savannah, GA -- The dredge Padre Island of Great Lakes Doc & Dredge Company, works to deepen the outer channel of the Savannah harbor as part of the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP) on March 30, 2016. The harbor deepening will allow larger, post-Panamax ships to visit Savannah more easily and with heavier loads. Savannah's Garden City terminal is the fourth busiest container port in the USA and the second busiest on the East Coast.
