    A new flow-way is now open in Chicopit Bay on the St. Johns River, and boaters there are helping the Mile Point construction crew by remaining alert in the busy construction area. Restoring the historical flow-way in Chicopit Bay and its connection to the Intracoastal Waterway system is necessary for the Mile Point project, which will improve vessel navigation on the St. Johns River.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites guests to visit The Dalles Dam Visitor Center and tour the dam this summer. The Dalles Dam Visitor Center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Sunday, between May 1 and Memorial Day weekend. After Memorial Day, the center begins daily operations, seven days a week through Labor Day weekend.

Applicants must apply for the duck blind drawing using the Wallisville Lake Waterfowl Management Program website to complete the 2016-17 duck blind drawing application.

Yolanda Tate, more than 25 District teammates, friends and families and Pacific Ocean Division employees, hiked to Oahu's Makapu'u Lighthouse to view the sunrise on April 15 in celebration of the 111th anniversary of the District’s founding. The Corps’ history in Hawaii and the Pacific began in 1905 when Lt. John Slattery became the District’s first commander. His original mission was to construct lighthouses for navigation, like Makapu’u.

    GALVESTON, Texas (April 19, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District will host two public scoping meetings May 17 and 19, 2016, to inform the public about the proposed study to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Houston Ship Channel 45-Foot Expansion Channel Improvement Project (HSC ECIP) in Harris and Galveston counties, Texas, which will study the feasibility of improvements to the HSC.
