    PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Enjoy the outdoors? Looking for a quiet place to RV this summer? Officials from the Army Corps of Engineers, Pine Bluff Site Office and Arkansas Post Field Office, are looking for volunteers to help take care of Pendleton Bend, Wilbur D. Mills, Notrebes Bend and Tar Camp parks.
  • Corps to increase flows from Lake Okeechobee

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to increase flows from Lake Okeechobee starting Friday. The new target flow for the Caloosahatchee is 4,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) as measured at Moore Haven Lock & Dam (S-77) located on the southwest side of the lake. The new target flow for the St. Lucie is 1,800 cfs as measured at St. Lucie Lock & Dam (S-80) near Stuart.
  • Comments sought on draft EA for project along Indian Creek in Council Bluffs, IA

    An environmental assessment for interstate bridge and roadway improvements over Indian Creek in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is currently available for public review. The EA evaluates the impacts of removing the existing Interstate 80/Interstate 29 bridge over Indian Creek and constructing new bridges with associated road improvements. The project is located approximately three miles upstream of the confluence of Indian Creek with the Missouri River. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than June 24, 2016.

    Before people head out for a day on or near the water, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers encourages all to have life jackets and to wear them. On average, nine out of ten drowning victims at an Army Corps of Engineers lake or river project did not wear a life jacket. Life jackets save lives by keeping you afloat and providing time for rescue.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Recent heavy rains in Arkansas and Oklahoma have caused flows to rise. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft.
  • CORPS CLOSES SHOAL BAY SWIM BEACH ON LAKE DARDANELLE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

    RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Russellville Site Office has closed Shoal Bay swim beach on Lake Dardanelle until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.
